📑 From Sign-Up to Contract

This post covers the administrative steps required to become a Foodora rider, from the initial application to receiving the contract. The entire process, from start to finish, took 17 days.


🚪 Phase 1: The Digital Gateway (Oct 2025)

The process began with a straightforward Google search, leading directly to the Foodora rider sign-up portal. This initial step was purely administrative.

I created an account and provided the basic required information:

  • Vehicle Type: Car
  • Location: My city
  • Contact Info: Name, email, and phone number

Submitting the form completed Phase 1 and presented me with a six-phase progress tracker for the remainder of the process.


📄 Phase 2: Document Submission—Necessary Paperwork and Privacy

Phase 2 was the document-heavy stage, focused on legal compliance and identity verification. I was required to digitally upload several documents, which involve sharing sensitive personal data:

  • Passport and official ID.
  • My current Residence Permit Card.
  • My Driving Licence.

The system requires these multiple uploads to ensure all legal and identity checks are satisfied. It’s a required step for this type of employment, relying on the company’s assumed security protocols to protect the information.

Once uploaded, the documents entered a waiting period for review and processing by the Foodora team.


📞 Phase 3 & 4: The Administrative Wait and Follow-up Call

The documents were processed over the next week and a half. I initiated the application early October, 2025, and received a follow-up call mid October, 2025.

The person on the line spoke with an accent, and their Swedish language skills were basic to intermediate; they struggled to complete sentences clearly. This interaction was a practical reminder that the administrative communications are handled by support teams who are most likely not native speakers of the local language just like the raiders.

The purpose of the call was brief and functional: to confirm I was still interested in proceeding with the role. After my confirmation, the representative immediately scheduled the next mandatory step: the digital onboarding session.


📧 Phase 5 & 6: Scheduling and Finalizing the Contract

The invitation to the required Foodora Digital Car Onboarding arrived for immediately after the follow-up call. This session was designated as the final mandatory step before being allowed to work.

Following the completion of all steps (including the onboarding session we will discuss next), the contract was finalized and signed late October, 2025.

In total, the administrative process from initial search to contract approval took 17 days. The next step was understanding the actual logistics of the job through the digital training session.
